Imagine if you put a clock divider, clock multiplier, step injector, time shifter, clock shifter, pulse-width modulator and an arithmatic probability processor under the control of a single knob? Now fit 16 of these knobs into a single module, with interaction between them? Welcome to Tiptop Audio’s Trigger Riot.
With so much going on in eight channels, simply tweaking a few knobs builds new sequences, causes patterns to evolve, and makes streams of triggers and gates pour from the outputs.
Trigger Riot is an innovative sequencer that is used to time modular synths with a unique method. It can be used to time modulate sources like the z4000 envelope generator, z8000 CV Sequencer, or any other compatible device. It is particularly suited to controlling multiple drum or percussion modules, creating a hugely flexible modular drum machine.
Other notable Trigger Riot features include:
- Non-volatile memory for pattern storage
- Sync options for external gear
- Smart sync of multiple Trigger Riots
- DIN Sync for vintage gear
- A precise internal tempo clock generator
- Tap tempo
- Preset looping
- Sequencing of independent channels, or matrix sequencing
