Following on from the handy NOISE module, Matttech Modular is pleased to announce that we have a couple more useful utility modules on their way: the Malekko Heavy Industries Mute 4 and Mix 4.
These are both 3HP wide, and serve to fill up awkward gaps resulting from other odd-sized modules (Harvestman etc..). You can also obviously get a couple from the series, and fill 6hp of room – so you don’t NEED to have any odd-sized gaps to take advantage of them.
The Mix 4 is probably the smallest 4 channel mixer – featuring level controls – on the market.
The Mute 4 could be useful in a myriad of ways, by bringing the following in and out:
additional sonic layers of a patch during jamming/ recording
additional modulation routings
FM / audio rate modulation, alongside more traditional cv sources
inverted versions of cv sources or gates, in order to vary patterns
There is also a VERY special module coming in the same shipment – not necessarily from Malekko.
After a little while languishing on the sidelines, Mutable Instruments’ wonderful multi-faceted digital VCO Braids is now available again! And further more, it doesn’t need external +5v any more. Nice.
This really is chock-full of surprises, with bags of different synthesis modes – from wavetables to analogue emulations to drum sounds to physical modelling. It really is a beast, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
So, to celebrate, here is a selection of some demos of this excellent product:
(Many thanks to Matt Shaw, DivKid, Lesindes, Surachai, Patatelemage, Zonk’t, Allthegeardotnet, Ilya M, Bigcitymusic, DavidH, Synthetic Machines and AsselMC for putting together these inspiring videos)
BRAIDS: Shipping from Tuesday 6th October – AVAILABLE HERE
PEAKS: Shipping from Tuesday 6th October – AVAILABLE HERE
Matttech Modular is very pleased to announce that Noise Engineering have been added to our range, with a selection of their most exciting products on their way to us as we speak:
Basimilus Iteritas – This is the drum synth module that started the latest craze for such products (Dinky’s Taiko, Audio Damage Neuron etc..). It has been very hard to get hold of for some time now, and we’re pleased to have a consignment on its way. Everything you could ask for in a drum voice, and the perfect partner for a Dinky’s. Forget about tired 909/808 sounds, this is far more “modular” in its approach and offers tons more in terms of synthesis option.
Variatic Erumption – burst generators are few and far between, but this one offers TWO of them, plus an onboard VC-LFO with its own output, and a clock divider. Fire off chaotic bursts of gates to the rest of your patch / system – all synced to the internal LFO or external clock.
Loquelic Iteritas – a VCO that has excited me more than any other I’ve heard for a while. For any fans of the Cyclebox, this offers 3 synthesis modes and an intuitive interface – and creates some unearthly sounds that sit somewhere between warbling/ gargling digital madness and wavefolded pitched tones. CANNOT wait for this one!
See below for the videos that made me go “WHOAAAH!! yes PLEASE!!”
NOTE: We have specifically introduced a cheaper shipping option to cater for these – Royal Mail SIGNED FOR – which should hopefully make it more feasible to order small, cheaper purchases like this. This service is only covered up to £50, so please don’t risk using this on more expensive orders.
OK….I know we’ve ALL been waiting for this one. It has been one long labour of love for Justin Owen from Abstract Data, but it’s finally available! HERE, to be precise. The order is already en route, and shipping commences on 16th September.
Fancy EIGHT CHANNELS of Pulses, Gates, LFOs, Digital Noise, or Loopable S&H modes…. along with a collection of Arpeggios and Rhythmic Loops? – Look no further!!
Abstract Data’s Octocontroller is the latest in a very popular lineage of multi-function modules, and if products such as Disting and Peaks are anything to go by, it should do VERY well.
Best get reading the MANUAL then….and you’ll see what all the fuss is about.
In the meantime, here’s some videos to get the GAS flowing:
Matttech Modular has a regular email newsletter, which will keep you up to date with regard to new and upcoming stock, along with providing information about planned events. It won’t be some massive “Spam-a-thon”, being roughly once a month, if that – although there may be the odd shorter missive when something like “Clouds Day” happens!
There are SIGN-UP fields on the HOMEPAGE and also during the Registration and Checkout processes.
Well, well, well – look what just dropped in…a bumper crop of modules from another of the UK’s awesome Eurorack developers: Rebel Technology…..and yep, that includes the multi-faceted, multi-functional OWL MODULAR, with its coat of many colours!
This insane beast can be a modulation source, sound source, sound manipulator, or effects unit and you don’t need to know any coding to use it.
It comes loaded with 5 banks of 8 effects patches out of the box, but you simply head over to HERE to choose from a massive – and growing – library of user patches. Mental
You then use the software (available in Mac, Linux and Windows formats) found HERE to upload your new patch via USB. Simple!
Also in stock: Logoi, Stoicheia, Klasmata and Chronos – all the rhythmic madness your brain can take! Excellent choices for avoiding the sometimes irritating repetitiveness of modular sequencing – and all by simple knob turns, without needing to resort to complex combinations of clocks and trigger sequencers within logic modules.
One of our all-time favourite ranges of modular synth goodness has been beefed up again, with another restock due to appear when the new DPLR Dual Delay and Multimode Filter are released at the end of the month…VERY excited for both of those ones!
In the meantime the current range has been refreshed, with restocks of popular modules such as: Quad Attenuator, Pole Zero, the massively excellent Spectrum and ultra-flexible VC Mini Slew, the funky Blender, and the ever-sought-after Ultrafold wave-folder/ destroyer!
If you haven’t checked any of it out, well…you SHOULD, as there’s not been a single dud design so far. All works well, is a decent price, is supremely flexible, small in size…but BIG on features. And sounds great
Matttech Modular is pleased to announce the addition of another UK-based Eurorack brand to our roster: Rebel Technology.
The have a solid line-up of Euclidian sequencers, tap tempo LFOs and other inspiring rhythmic modules – Chronos, Stoicheia, Logoi, and Klasmata – and have also put the finishing touches to the OWL Modular. This is a fully-programmable, open source digital audio device…with a growing online library of patches.
For all of you who missed out on the latest round of stock (Clouds, 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonator etc..) there is now an option underneath all products that are listed as “Out of Stock”, allowing you “Join Waitlist”. This will automatically add your email address to the waiting list if you are logged in. If you’re not logged in you will need to fill out the email field manually.
If you do this you will be notified as soon as the product is back in stock – then it’s just a matter of making it to the website before the product sells out! 🙂
There is a handy link within the email to take you straight to the product in question.
I may also put upcoming products on the site, in order to gauge demand and organise the waiting list.
If you are REALLY desperate for a particular module you can still get in touch via email, and I can arrange a pre-payment. These would be via Direct Bank Transfer only.
NOTE: All existing reservations prior to this change will still be honoured though, so fear not!
It’s been a LOOOONG time coming, but finally I have some Mutable Instruments Clouds to sell via the website.
I am working through the preorder list, so more may be added to the site over the next day or so, so check back if they go out of stock quickly. Also, once they do sell out, please click on the “WAITLIST” option to be notified of future stock arrivals.
They will be shipping out from Tuesday 2nd September, and can be ordered right now! HERE, in fact.
Well, it FINALLY makes it onto the website! The multi-faceted Expert Sleepers Disting has been so popular thus far that every single one I’ve had has sold via preorders. Now in its “mk.2” incarnation, with even longer delay times (1.6 secs).
As part of an ongoing Mutable Instruments restock process, Shades and Yarns are now back in stock….joined by a newcomer: Frames.
Frames is another of those multi-faceted Mutable products that can perform many different functions, with its main one being a “Keyframe Mixer” – basically, it is a 4 channel mixer, which will let you store 4 different “snapshots” (frames) of its 4 channel levels, and morph between them under voltage control. But obviously the fun doesn’t stop there, as it can also be used as a 4 step sequencer, 4 channel attenuator, programmable CV generator, quadrature LFO, etc……
Keep an eye out for further Mutable restocks over the next month or so.
We are proud to announce that a decent selection of the super-sexy Black Range from Erica Synths is now available to purchase! They are some of the best looking, and most ergonomically-designed modules I’ve seen in some time. If you’re a fan of the comfortable dimensions, and chunky feel of things like the Livewire AFG, then these could very well be the type of thing you would enjoy – both from a build quality perspective, and also from a musical and live performance standpoint.
We have the Digital Noise, Varishape VCO 1 & 2, Polivoks VCF, VC Clock, LFO and Output Module in stock.
I do believe that – at time of writing – Matttech Modular is the sole UK supplier of this range of products at present, and they are in very limited quantities – so what are you waiting for?? Get amongst it!!
Many of you have been asking about the brand new FH-1 USB Fader Host from Expert Sleepers, so here it is! It will turn any “class compliant” USB controller into a centralised control surface for your modular synth. If you use a suitable interface box – such as the iConnectMIDI2+ – you could even use an iPad to directly control your synth.
An output expander is planned for later in the year – the FHX-1 – which will allow for up to 64 outputs.
To whet your appetite, here’s a video of it in action with the Launch Control XL
More videos and information can be found on the Expert Sleepers website HERE
So who’s this intriguing young lady called Erica? Well….”She” is actually Girts Ozolins from Latvia, and he has been beavering away on his new line of modules – the ominously titled “Black Range”. I had the pleasure of trying some of these Erica Synths beauties out at Ben “DivKid” Wilson’s studio, and I must say I had a LOT of fun! I am especially excited about the two modules shown in this post – the Black Digital Noise and the Varishape VCO – but there are others on their way too.
These are serious, sturdy bits of kit which really look the part. ETA a week or so…
